Babies Love

Hey guys :)  What's up?  Me, well, since I was so sick on Sat/Sun and slept most of the time, I had the hardest time falling asleep on Sunday night.  So I decided to watch episodes of Glee under the covers (don't wanna wake Bob up - poor guys has to be awake at 4am to get ready for work!).  Yeah, I was up till about 2am, when I finally took some Unisom.  That did the trick.  hehe.

Tom left for school at normal time in the morning, then Jake, then about 45 minutes later the little kids catch the bus.  I'm so glad that they are so self sufficient.  I just have to make sure that they are awake, they do the rest.  Big kids rock sometimes ;)

And then I lounged around for a good part of the day.  I did do a load of dishes and straighten up in the kitchen and living room.  So it's not like I didn't do anything.  Being pregnant and old sure takes a toll!

At 2:30pm, I headed out to my first WIC appointment.  It was in Provo at 3pm.  I got there about 15 minutes early, and they got me in early.  Sa-weet!  They took my info and verified our income and all that jazz, then I got to watch a video on how WIC works.  It's changed a bit since my older kids were on WIC.  You can get fresh fruits and veggies now!  And bread.  And tortillas.  And rice.  Who knew?  I was pretty excited.

I was out of there by 3:45pm.  And I headed back to home.  I was called as the assistant Cub Scout den leader for the Wolf group (Jim's group), and needed to be to the other leaders house (Rachel) by 4pm.  I got there a few minutes late, but I had let her know ahead of time.  She and I and the 4 boys in the den worked on Food Pyramid guides.  They got to cut and color and glue, and I think they all enjoyed it.  Then they planned healthy meals for a day, and were tasked with helping mom (or dad) cook a meal for the family at home.  After the meeting, the kids had fun bouncing on the trampoline and being little boys.  Rachel and I visited for a little bit, then I headed home to fix something for dinner.

And my big kids had signed for a letter (lol, they look old) from my ex with the rest of the child support for Feb in it.  Finally!  We needed groceries, and were waiting on that money to go to the store.  So, I ditched the kids again, and headed to the bank to deposit the check.  Then went to the grocery store to pick up something to make for dinner.

We ended up having tater tots and sausage hot dogs and a nice salad.  That was all the energy I had.  I've been cooking a lot, and hot dogs and tater tots are DEFINITELY not up to standards.  lol.  But you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes.

I headed back home, and started on dinner.  Bob had texted earlier and said that he was going to be late (usually gets off around 4pm), so it was ok that I was running behind.  We all sat down at the dinner table together at around 6:30.  A lot later than the typical 5pm.  But no one was complaining.

And I don't remember when my kids got so ornery, but they sure were tonight.  Eme and Tom kept telling each other that THEY were the better draw-er.  Then going to find proof.  And Jake was just grouchy.  Jim didn't want to eat the hot dogs because they were "yucky".   It was a short family dinner.  When we first instituted it, they fought it pretty hard.  But after a week, they mostly embraced it.  I really enjoy our family dinners.  There is ALWAYS a ton of laughing.  I'm sure tonight was just an off night because of the lateness of it all.  Tomorrow will be better.

And I just had hot dogs and salad, and I feel like I gorged myself at an all you can eat buffet.  I tend to get morning sickness in the evenings.  Maybe I just need to snack all day long?  ha!

After dinner, I started watching a part of "Teen Beach Movie" with the kids, then took a shower.  Eme is using her 1 hour of computer time, Joe and Jim are watching TV, Jake is watching TV downstairs, and I'm not sure what Tom is doing.  As I'm sitting here blogging, Bob is trying to win my level of "Plague INC" on my phone.  I can't seem to kill off the whole work on medium....  He has better world domination instincts than I do, apparently.  hehe.

So it's almost 9pm.  That's bedtime in this house.  Well, for Joe and Jim.  And Eme goes to her room at that point.  I don't know what the teens do downstairs.  As long as they are quiet, it's all good.  They get up for school all right, so I'm assuming they sleep.

I'm excited that I don't have any appointments tomorrow.  Oh how the times change.  Hopefully I feel good and productive tomorrow.  I need to clean the kitchen, do some laundry, plan meals for the week, and go grocery shopping if I feel up to it.  OK, so maybe not the relaxing day I had in mind.  hehe.  I really want to devote some time to designing tomorrow.  Wish me luck!
